Brujos entertain at Gladiators halftime again, summer touch is in full swing, and July Brujos news.
For the second time this year, on Saturday June 22nd the NM Brujos played an exhibition match during halftime of the Duke City Gladiators game.
These exhibitions were highly valuable in terms of rugby awareness and team exposure, and a partnership the Brujos hope to continue going forward.
Speaking of the Gladiators, The Duke City Gladiators will host the Salina Liberty in the Champions Indoor Football (CIF) Championship on July 13 at 6 p.m. at Tingley Coliseum.
They advanced to the finals Saturday night after defeating the Amarillo Venom 70-62.
The Gladiators are the defending CIF champions.
No word yet if the Gladiators credit the amazing Brujos halftime performances as inspiration for their second consecutive championship run, but it can't be coincidence, right?
Summer Touch Has Started!
The Sister's Rugby is hosting summer touch on Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 5:30 PM at UNM's Johnson field. This is an ALL inclusive event: All ages, all experience levels, men and women are welcome. Come out and see what rugby is all about. Bring cleats and water. If you have extra cleats please bring them as well.
In addition, there's Saturday touch rugby at the fields at Eisenhower every Saturday at 10 a.m.
These touch practices are a great opportunity for recruiting new teammates for the upcoming Fall and Spring season, as well as strengthening team bonds. So if you know anyone that's rugby curious or your rugby curious yourself come on out and give it a try.
