September is National Suicide Prevention Month.
Every year, the Lifeline, NAMI and other mental health organizations and individuals across New Mexico and the U.S. and around the world raise awareness of suicide prevention during September, National Suicide Prevention Month. This year, the need to address this subject is as crucial as ever. The relapse and overdose rate has increased by 30% since March 2020. Mental health issues related to our lock down and the pandemic are especially hard for people with depression.
Every year in February the New Mexico Brujos do a fund raising run for NAMI, The National Alliance on Mental Health, but they need our help in order to provide help to others all year long. You can donate to this vital organization here.
Lifeline is another organization that provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals.. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is made up of an expansive network of over 170 local- and state-funded crisis centers located across the United States. You can donate to lifeline here.
