Santa Fe 10s results! Fall schedule and practice! Brujos Golf Tournament! UNM fundraiser!
The New Mexico Brujos got back to competitive rugby last weekend with mixed results at the 2023 Santa Fe 10s tournament. The tournament got off to a rough start with a lopsided 36 to 0 loss to the host and eventual champion Santa Fe Santos. The Brujos righted the ship with a 27 to 17 win over UNM to leave them with a 1 and 1 round robin record, good enough for a semi-finals appearance against NM Tech. Trailing 14 - 12 at half, the Brujos would go on to lose to Tech 28 to 17.
Next up for the NM Brujos is an appearance at the Flagstaff 10s tournament in October. However there's a chance for a union match before then (more on that below), and there's still plenty of rugby practice and other Brujos activities in between then so stay tuned to your favorite local rugby blog for the up to the minute Brujos scoop!
2023 Fall Schedule
The NM Brujos Fall rugby season kicked off at last!
The Brujos kicked off their 2023 campaign at the Santa Fe 10s tournament last Sunday. The Brujos now have a break until their next tournament, the Flagstaff 10s on October 7th, however a Southwest Rugby Union match is possible sometime in September. As is custom High Desert is at the end of October on the 21st, and the NM Brujos are very excited to be participating in the Atomic Sisters' 30th Anniversary celebration 10s tournament on November 11th. The Brujos will finish the fall season by participating in the New Mexico Youth Rugby Turkey touch the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the 25th.
