Turkey Touch this Saturday! AYRU fundraiser! Rugby is a Drag (returning this January!) updates.
This Saturday Join AYRU for the return of their annual Turkey Touch Tournament! All Ages welcome, we will divide up into teams to have some fun and run off all the extra calories gained from the holidays! New to rugby? Perfectly fine, come enjoy some time with our family! For more info check out the Facebook event page.
Can't make it this Saturday? Not to worry, Albuquerque Youth Rugby United is playing touch all fall and winter long! On Saturdays this Fall and Winter there will be a pitch available at North Domingo Baca Park from 10-12 for touch rugby. Rugby balls and cones will also be provided. It's recommended that everyone bring water and cleats if possible. Please remember that the purpose behind AYRU running touch is to build rugby and recruit. There will be younger players there. Please help them fall in love with rugby. Teach them and be friendly. Most of the AYRU leadership will be running youth clinics at that time, so we're trusting y'all to be the adults. And remember - it's touch! Have fun and don't be jerks. This will run every Saturday hopefully until February, with the exception of Christmas and December 4th which will be Turkey Touch (more on that in the weeks to come). Hope to see you all there!
If you appreciate everything that AYRU does to advance the cause of rugby in our state consider giving to Albuquerque Youth Rugby United. As a registered non profit- our all volunteer staff continues to provide avenues and means for our athletes to compete.
We thank you for your generous support and if you don't mind like and continue to share this post!
Rugby is a Drag (Show!) to return this January!
Dust off your dancing cleats! After a year off due to the Covid epidemic, the New Mexico Brujos and their friends at the NM Black Cat Cultural & Community Center are more than pleased to announce that the very popular Rugby is a Drag (show!) and fundraiser will be returning for a fifth year in January of 2022. Formerly held at Sidewinders, the show next January will be making it's debut at the new NM Black Cat Cultural & Community Center, and, as in year's past, will benefit our friends at Casa Q. Casa Q provides safe living for LGBTQ+ youth through housing, services and advocacy. The NM Brujos are also thrilled to announce that the fabulous La Saveona Hunt will be returning to host the whole shebang! This year's show will take place on January 22nd and ticket sales will begin next week so stay tuned to the New Mexico Brujos website and social media pages for more information and save the date!
